Steve Lederer

Biography

STEVE LEDERER (saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist, and piccolo-payer) played and recorded for many years with the great Woody Herman’s band. He is a long-time member of the (trumpeter) Sam Noto Quintet playing with that band in three separate “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Concerts over an almost two-decade span at the Ontario Science Centre -- on March 6, 1978; on February 6, 1989; and on November 4, 1996.

He also led his own Steve Lederer Quintet (guitarist Bill Bridges, pianist George McFetridge, bassist Jimmy Amaro, and drummer Terry Clarke) in the “SOTJ” Series on <st1:date month="1" day="16" year="1981">January 16, 1981.
