Biography

MARC ROGERS (bassist) was born in Quebec and is based in Toronto, Ontario. Versed in a variety of musical styles and active in several diverse projects, he was the bassist for the Kelly Jefferson Quartet when the ensemble performed in the “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Concert Series on February 18, 2002.

Rogers has gained respect for both his electric and acoustic bass playing, performing and recording with a lengthy list of talented artists including eight-time Grammy winner Norah Jones, The Philosopher Kings, Kenny Wheeler, Joe Lovano, Mike Stern, Lewis Nash, Terri-Lynn Carrington, Kelly Jefferson, Bowfire, and Holly Cole. He has written and recorded music for television and film including Zoe Busiek, Wild Card, The ‘L’’ Word, Lie With Me, and Saint Ralph. In addition to maintaining an active touring and recording schedule, Marc Rogers is a contributing columnist for Canadian Musician Magazine.
