Q: “The trio – is that your most comfortable format?”

A: Ernestine Anderson: “Well, it just worked out that way. For some reason, I don't know. We couldn't seem to … I just couldn't seem to get into the next album and we kept putting it off and putting it off and finally, they gave me a deadline and said, "Look, you've got to do an album, you know, like yesterday."

Interviewer: “Right.”

Ernestine Anderson: “So I said, "Okay. Well, you know, if I can get Hank Jones."”
